Snipping away all old contacts and connections. Feels good. I am free. Now I can say whatever I want ~ well, I always could, but there was the "fear" of what would be said or unsaid or done or undone.
I don't have to worry about being "black balled" by the Christian community, because I no longer have any affiliations professionally or otherwise with them... sigh. It feels so GOOD!
So... first topic of my new freedom... HELLO?! Equal rights for everyone! I can finally open my mouth and say, "I believe everyone ought to have equal rights!"
I'm reading a book called, "The Help". It's got me all fired up. I woulda been "that girl" that marched with Martin Luther King... I woulda been "that girl" that went into the "colored people's bathrooms". I woulda been "that girl" that sat at the back of the bus with "those people". That woulda been me.
And today, I'm "that girl" that stands up and says "let 'em get married!"
